Yule Giving Spell

As Yule is the time for giving, what better way to celebrate this sabbat than with a spell of blessings and goodwill toward someone else. Not only is this spell quick, but it also requires very few ingredients, and you can do it several times over! Do this holiday ritual if you know someone who could use the blessings of the winter solstice, the comfort and warmth of home and hearth, luck, and good health.

Ingredients

  • One cinnamon stick

  • A small strip of paper

  • String or twine

Instructions

  • On the strip of paper, write down the full name of someone you know who could use some positivity, joy, and good fortune in their life.

  • Wrap it around the center of the cinnamon stick and fasten it in place by tying the string around it.

    • If you are going to perform this spell for multiple people, I recommend giving each person their own cinnamon stick and slip of paper.

  • On the night of the winter solstice, hold it between your palms and envision whatever good things they need to come their way. Let this be their beacon of light in the cold and dark of winter.

  • Burn the bundle. If you do not have a fireplace or pit for a Yule fire, a fireproof container will do.

    • If you choose the latter option, it will take more time. I like to place a tealight candle in the container and, holding the cinnamon stick with tongs, get both sides lit or smoldering and then placing it on the tealight just to the side of the flame to it doesn't get snuffed out. Finish by scattering the ashes in the wind.)

May the blessings you send others return to you as well. Blessed Yule.

Hey, witches!

Tiffany Heggebo of Bewitching.Bemused here. My preferred tea flavor is eclectic Paganism with a teaspoon of ceremonial occult and a splash of Chaos Magick. Thanks for swinging by for a bit of my musings and meanderings along this crooked path.
